Gatherings in Granny's Gardens,
2001 |

 The
gatherings began when I invited
people to come to my gardens for
free seedlings. I found myself giving mini garden tours and talks with
each person that came. Most of the visitors were inexperienced gardeners
and many brought their children. I made many friends along the way and
started hosting get togethers every other
week or so that we called "gatherings." We pressed flowers,
picked bouquets and made lunch from the gardens. I taught them to
plant seeds and plants and the mothers how to use woodworking tools. These
are all things we have done in the garden program in the last few years. |
