Service Learning is a reflective educational experience in which students earn academic credit by participating in meaningful service activities. Service-learning experiences are designed to foster deeper understanding of course content and an enhanced sense of civic responsibility.

When working with an institution on a service learning project, our challenge is to find a balance that will meet their needs while enhancing the service we provide our clients without undue drain on our personnel.  As a small non profit organization we do not have a personnel, fundraising or public relations department where a student can shadow a professional, for example.  On the other hand, because we are small, we offer the opportunity for a wide range of experiences for a self-directed student.
