When the kids returned to school in the fall the garden was a mass of sunflowers.
Spring 2003
In the spring, the first grade classrooms planted vegetables in their new their garden boxes and lots of sunflowers, zinnias and other flowers in back. Above are signs from the "Storybook" garden one of the classes planted.
2004
The dear herd has discovered the playground gardens.  This year we only had a few sunflowers but still had lots of zinnias and other flowers.  They like just about everything in the gardens.  Only the boxes at the end in the middle of the playground were undamaged.
Spring 2006
We keep on experimenting with different plants behind the garden beds.  Spring 2006, we planted cannas and iris.  We'll see how the deer like these.
