This area consists of a series of small flower garden plots along the fence line, next to the building, along walkways and around the flag pole.  Like all of our gardens, this area is constantly changing depending on the season and offers many learning opportunities.  It is a popular spot for picking flowers and gathering seeds.

To the right is Sam and Rosemary Gardener.  They and their family of one boy and two girls are our mascots.  You can read more about them here.

The first spring we had to put up a fence to keep people from walking through this area.  A Girl Scout troop had planted bulbs here the fall before but they were all but trampled to death.  We no longer have to put up a fence.  The kids are very respective of the gardens they help to create.
Spring 2003 we began planting flowers around the front of the elementary school and created a "Yellow Ribbon" garden of annuals in recognition of lives lost in the 911 attack in New York City.  That fall we used the space for our first Journey Northgarden. Now, each year this area will be loaded with emperor red tulips and other spring flowers. Then we plant lots of sunflower seeds in the same spot.
