NEWS FLASH; White, purple and yellow carrots found in Granny's Garden!  Children observed eating them with no ill effect!!!!!

Has your child ever hankered for a garden of his or her own?  Do you know that when children grow something they actually enjoy eating it?  We learned that years ago by having kids in our gardens grow and pick veggies.  The more exotic the better.  And gardening is a hobby that can last a lifetime.

Our next Victory Garden camp will help them get started.  We will start right at the ground (ha, ha) with composting, digging and mulching.  Then we will start seeds, plant seedlings, care for plants and harvest produce.  And of course we will eat what we pick.  Your child will learn about fun that doesn't require electronics, exercise that achieves results, and healthy, tasty food.  Our gardens use only organic methods, so bug watching is part of the fun and chemicals are not.

Your young gardener will also receive seeds, compost and plants for a garden at home.  On Friday parents are invited to join the kids and see what they have accomplished, pick a bouquet of flowers and enjoy a tasty snack from the garden.

"Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant."  Robert Louis Stevenson
