Sunday Supper - August 2009

Sometimes, things do not go as you planned.  About an hour before the dinner, Mark Metcaf, the owner chef at the VegHead who was scheduled to work with us that evening called to say his 105 year old grandmother was not doing well and the family was gathering to be with her.  (Later she rallied.)  So, Granny and event coordinator, Helen Fox, both experienced cooks, led the preparation of the meal.  All turned out very well.  Guests enjoyed themselves so much they were still lingering over their dinner even as darkness fell at 9:15.   Produce not used for dinner is donated to local food pantries and soup kitchens.

We sold out and had to turn people away.

We harvested, learning about different produce along the way.  Everyone got in the act, washing, peeling, chopping, mixing and cooking.

We picked bouquets for the tables and were entertained throughout the even by music and vocals provided by students from  the Loveland Music Academy.
