Kristyn A. a
third grader at Loveland Primary School received the top award
for her entry in the children's category of the Blooming Cakes
decorated cakes competition at Granny's Winter Garden Party
for her Hearts on a Roll
entry. Granny awarded Kristyn blue ribbon and a cup cake
decorating kit at her class Valentine party. The
judge was impressed with her creativity and the way she used
one thing to create something another, i.e. candy hearts to
create flowers. Others receiving awards in the
children's category were, Elysia M., Claire B. and Paige N.
(For their safety, we do not identify children with their last
name.)
Sue Nelson took
top prize in the adult amateur division with her Sugar and Spice and
Everything Mice entry. Christine Clarke took first
prize in the professional division with her Sweetheart cake.
Congratulations to all and thanks to all who entered. Click here for all

Granny's
Garden School is
a 501
(c)(3) non-profit organization. We partner
with but are not funded by the school system. We raise our own
funds through private donations, grants and annual fundraising
events.
Our mission: Our children are losing touch with the
natural world. Granny's Garden School uses the school
grounds to help kids discover the nature in their own
backyards, experience the satisfaction of growing and
preparing their own food and the simple pleasure of picking a
flower. We collaborate with the schools and the community to
offer fun and imaginative, hands on learning opportunities
that compliment and enhance the school
curriculum. | | |
