The Family Garden - Starter Kit

“Why try to explain miracles to your kids when you can just have them plant a garden.”  Robert Brault

Each year we offer 100 garden starter kits, free with a $25 donation.  They are great for new and experienced gardeners.  The contents of the kits vary from year to year depending on available resources. However, they will always include a selection of at least 20 varieties of vegetable/flower seeds, coupons for free flower and vegetable & herb plants. Registration form

In 2012, the kits will contain:
  • A collection of more than 20 varieties of easy to grow flower and vegetable seeds.
  • A coupon for three (3-4") potted vegetable, herb or flowering plants from Natorp's Garden Stores & Landscape
  • Coupon for 50% off of up to a dozen heirloom tomato plants from Greenfield Plant Farm.
  • A coupon for three (3 - 4") herb plants and a coupon for two "pick your own" lavender bouquets from Jaybird Farms
  • A coupon - buy two vegetable/herb plants receive two of equal or less value, free from Blooms & Berries Farm Market.
  • 20 five-gallon buckets worth of Granny's Garden School's leaf compost.
You will receive more than enough seeds to plant a 3' x 10' vegetable garden.  However, if you plan to have enough of a vegetable i.e. green beans for canning, you will need more seeds and more space.  Our goal is to provide you with a variety of seeds.  We are not selling the seeds, plants, compost or workshops.  They are provided free with your donation.

"Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant."  Robert Louis Stevenson
