Primary Playground Gardens

“When the world wearies and society fails to satisfy, there is always the garden.”Minnie Aumonier

This garden area is located along the playground of Loveland Primary School.

This is an area with several challenges - shady spots, deer, groundhogs that tunnel below the blacktop playground to emerge in a garden bed, and the occasional playground ball.  Students quickly learn to respect the boundaries of the gardens and do not disturb the plants during recess.

Because of the challenges, we plant flowers and no foods in this area so we are able to keep critters away with organic applications.

"Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant."  Robert Louis Stevenson
