Three classes garden in this location
that is tucked between Loveland Elementary School and the "wing" hallway that
connects Loveland Elementary and Primary Schools. This area is challenged
by shady pockets along the building walls, so the beds are located close to the
driveway. When we fenced in the nearby hill gardens in 2008, the deer
directed their attention to this area. We are not permitted to install a
permanent structure here but do install a temporary deer fence each spring. The Back Courtyard is home to a buckeye tree
started from seed by a parent and planted by a fourth
grade class. It also houses weather instruments for fourth grade students to take and
interpret readings.
