The following spring, these same 3rd graders, propagate new dahlias from
cuttings and seed. There are three work sessions for this group in the
spring.

In February, they "wake up" some of the dahlia so they will begin to send
out shoots and plant dahlia seeds in a search for new varieties.

In March, they take cuttings from the dahlia shoots and pot
them so they can root.
