How-to-Plant Dahlias

2nd Grade Science Day

1. Go to where the shovels are stuck in the ground.

2. The shovel marks the spot where you are to dig a hole 6-8 deep.

3. Pile the soil next to your hole, not in the grass.

4. Your hole is deep enough when you stick your shovel in and only the handle sticks out.

5. When your hole is finished, hold up you hand and a helper will bring you a tuber

6. Plant your tuber so it is laying flat in the hole.

7. Using your hands, cover the tuber with the soil you removed.

8. Sit down on the grass and read about dahlias on the other side of this instruction sheet then answer the questions below.
