The activity at Mrs. Garn's 2nd grade class Harvest Party
was making leaf castings
from cement. Local artist, Sandy Fry, came to show the class how to do
it.
The key to making this a successful project with 24 kids
is be prepared, do it outside and have lots of volunteers. If you
have never casted leaves before, try it by yourself before trying it with
the kids.
They measured and mixed the sand, cement, colorant and
water until it was just the right consistency. |
