Granny's Great Amaryllis Race begins in the fall with our bulb sale where parents are offered the opportunity to purchase a classroom package that includes daffodils for the students to plant in the fall and amaryllis bulbs for the January race.

The race encourages the development of data collection and interpretation skills using measuring and graphing abilities.  Students draw on their knowledge about plant and bulb parts and processes learned during the fall season to form hypotheses to answer questions and form conclusions from observed and recorded growth.
