We’re looking for
the Fastest Food!
Please report the
number of leaves your bulb has on Friday, February 4.
Please also report
the length of your longest leaf if we need to break a tie.
“Fastest
Food” means were looking for the bulb that has the most leaves showing.
Ask your students if they know the connection between fastest food and
leaves. Hopefully, many will recall that the leaves are making much
needed food for your plant to grow.
Some bulbs are
having growth spurts and others are taking their time to sprout.
Please don’t lose heart if you have a slow starter. Talk to your
students about why this may happen. Bulbs can take a bit of time to
warm up to their ideal temperature to grow. Make sure your bulb is in a
warm spot. Does it have enough, but not too much, water? It can take
time for the small plant inside to make its way up the bulb and bulb
neck.
Please send your
plant’s name if you haven’t yet.
Even though voting is over, we would still like to post your plant’s
name on our website.
