Granny's Garden School welcomes the Boy Scout's and Girl Scout's support and participation in our program.  We are very happy with the projects already completed and look forward to continuing our partnership with these fine organizations in other endeavors.  Please take a few minutes to explore the links on the left for the complete story of all that the Scouting community has contributed to the garden program.
Small and medium project ideas
  • Donate and plant gooseberry and/or blueberry bushes for their fruit.  Early spring blooming bushes such as forsythia, lilac, mock orange and knockout roses, or spring bulbs.
  • Pick and deliver bouquets to local nursing home, police/fire station and local business.
  • There are many projects that will assist with the continued development and maintenance of the nature trail i.e. spreading mulch on the trail, trimming back branches and removing honeysuckle.
  • Help us by pressing flowers to be used in Granny's Craft Room at our fundraisers.
  • Volunteer to help with set up and/or tear down at one of our events.
  • Check our our wish list for things your group might be able to donate.
  • We have many garden paths that are always in need of another layer of wood chips.  With hundreds of kids walking on the paths they get beaten down pretty fast.  We always have stacks of shredded tree mulch on site and lots of wheelbarrows, buckets and shovels.
  • Summer and fall we need help harvesting produce to take to the Loveland food pantry.
  • There are always weeds to pull, and usually mulch/compost to haul and seeds/plants to plant. If you are looking for a project for your group, send Granny an e-mail, she has an every growing list of things to be done and is open to your suggestions as well.

"Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant."  Robert Louis Stevenson
